Ever since I started really talking about moving it has consumed my down time. My TiVo is full and my washer is empty.
We looked at my top two favorites today and learned that the listing agents are in the wrong profession. They should have been professional photographers. They can make anything look exquisite. But at least we pretty much ruled out an entire neighborhood.
Back to the drawing board. You would think my conducting real estate transactions every day of my life would make me comfortable with this process, but you'd be wrong. Closing attorneys should be forced to buy every few years to remind us of what it's like on the other end of the table. Nerve-racking.
And Jason's back ground in appraisal, valuation and even a brief stint in building supplies? Dreadful. I can look at his face when we turn on the street and tell you what he's going to think about the house. And 99 times out of 100, he's right.
Basically we both feel pressured to make the perfect decision, but we are sure we're going to buy the wrong house at the wrong price in the wrong neighborhood. We are trying to remind ourselves that we are not looking for the best deal, but the best house. One that we will not want to leave in 5 years.
So here are a few pictures of my kid staring out the window longing to get out. I can so relate. Reason number four hundred and eleven we want a good back yard.

This last picture is my favorite. Hardin makes this face all the time now when he is concentrating.
So exciting to think about moving.
