The $349 Laptop Finally Died

But I am not giving up hope just yet. I ordered a new battery from my phone and it should be here by Wednesday. Until then, it's blogger via iPhone pictures.

My favorite from the day is this. We were going to meet a bunch of folks at Locos for an early dinner and H would not wake up from his nap. Jason kept saying we should wake him and I kept giving him the "I'm going to pretend like you didn't just say that" look.

Hardin finally started to stir and Jason popped up to go get him. About five minutes later his bedroom door was closed with the light off. This is what I found. Then my eyes filled up with water.

Ironically, at dinner my friend Katie said she loves Jason McWhorter as a daddy. I stopped myself from going on a tangent about how much I do to, and simply agreed with her.

Hardin and I simply love him as a daddy too.

Neither of us...

Neither me or my precious boy were doing what we were supposed to be doing from about 7:30 to 9pm tonight.

We have this new bedtime thing.  As soon as I get him all clean in his jammies he starts pointing at my room saying Choo Choo... Choo Choo.  That's Hardin talk for Thomas and tickle time please.

We lay in bed and turn on Thomas and then starts the goofing off.  He wallows all around, I try and catch him and tickle him.  When I get him he says again, again, AGAIN!  He says that becuase I read somewhere that you should ask for permission before tickling becuase it makes some kids feel powerless.  Not my goof.  He loves it!

Well, tonight daddy was at darts, so we had let tickle time last until almost 8.  That never happens.

When I put him down I sat down to sift through the 248 emails I had in my work inbox since Friday.  I watched this little monkey for about an hour instead.  He was cracking me up!  Singing, laughing, playing.  I learned my lesson on keeping him up a little too late... or maybe he's just as excited as I am that B LANDS AT 7:20 TOMORROW MORNING!  Mom's picking him up and meeting me and the babe for breakfast by my office.  I can't wait!

These videos will be boring for most but me.  But the joy they will bring me will make up for it.

Total Zoo

In less than 24 hours Hardin and I used a full tank of gas in my Matrix.  At 37 miles a gallon, that was a lot of car time.  Hardin did great, but I'll sure be glad when he is old enough to face forward for my sake and his.

Daddy had a golf tournament Saturday so we hit the ground running to Mary Ellen's house.  That lasted less than 2 hours before her sweet little Liddie got sick.  It was SO hard to leave Mare and those babies but I am glad we did because the little miss got sick again not long after we left.

We had a little extra time and the weather was perfect, so we headed to LaGrange from Carrollton to visit dad's grave.  It was a good idea.  And I'm glad I did it.  But man, I sure do need more than 30 minutes of prep before that.  Normally I have weeks go get my mind right before going.  That was a little tough.  Lucky for Hardin he slept through the tears.

Next stop was Justin's house for warm baths and dinner with Pop.  He hadn't seen H since he's been a real walker and was quite impressed.  The kids played outside the entire night.

This morning we walked from their house in Grant Park to the Zoo.  The cousins are old pros from living so close, and Hardin thoroughly enjoyed his maiden voyage.  He barked at the sheep, growled at the lions, and ran his little self silly.  They also got airbrush tattoos that Hardin is still showing off.

H fell asleep in the stroller on the way home and stayed asleep when I transferred him to the car for the ride home.  We stopped in Publix and Target before landing at our final destination.  Whew.

Daddy got home from playing East Lake with Justin about 30 minutes after us, and I headed straight to Hardin's closet to finish the summer switch I started the other night.  I'm right proud of my work.  Mostly that I did it instead of laying on the sofa.

Speaking of that closet.  I was all excited for Hardin to wear a little smocked outfit today but then it was chilly and we had to borrow a fleece.  I'm 0 and 2 for animal themed outings, and both times, Yellow River and Zoo Atlanta, H has worn one of Cawley's sweat shirts.  Good thing for older cousins when you have a poor planning mama!
I walked in while she was trying to explain how to get up there to Hardin.  Too cute!
He spotted Ben's tractor and had to sit on it!

Tried to get all of their attention.  Clearly they weren't on board.

He loved the exhibit where the birds fly all around you and you get to feed them.
Totally pushing a stranger to get to a bird.  We will be working on this.

One of my favorite pictures of all time.  He LOVES Cawley.

No, the littles did not get to ride in the back.

So serious taking the train ride in.

Our weekend was as busy as it was fun!  Any other time I'd have a clear calender next weekend after our last couple of weeks and end of month, but not this time.  Why?  Because my brother will be HOME in FOUR DAYS.  And even more exciting is that he says next time he comes home he's staying for good.  Hopefully this fall he'll be headed home for good (and hopefully to another good job).

Ice Cream Truck!

Today was a totally normal daddy day care day.  Jason and H were waiting in the drive way when I got home, and Jason tagged out to go relax after his day's work.  Hardin and I went for a long walk and were just about home when I heard the most magical sound.

The ice cream truck.

And this one had a very nice normal looking lady operating it, unlike the strange one that surfaced a few times last year.  She'll be here every Wednesday over the summer, so I have lots of sticky chairs to look forward to!

I love watching him discover new things very first time.  Most of the time it happens without a camera handy and then I run go grab it and miss that first look.  Not this time, nope nope nope, I had my camera phone in hand.  That look above is his first I-took-too-big-of-a-bite-of-my-freezing-cold-tangy-push-up-pop face, one eye squint and all!  The rest I couldn't narrow down, I want to be able to look at them all.

Once again, Hardin landed himself a nice goose egg.  I feel like a crazy person the way I worry, but for real, I've never known a baby to bang his head up this much.  He just runs full force and sometimes that ends in a fall.  I can baby proof all day long, but I can't remove all of our walls.  The only reason I want him to get a little older is to be more steady and aware of what he is doing.  Unfortunately I suspect he'll just keep running faster and stronger, which will mean falling harder.    Fair boy also bruises like a peach, and like his mama.  That's not helping the situation!

Three happy kids, three happy parents.

Cat, the kids and Scribbles headed up yesterday afternoon.  Uncle Justin was out of town.  I'll let the pictures do the talking, but suffice it to say there is a lump in my throat thinking about how sad Hardin is going to be tomorrow when he wakes up to an empty house.  He loves having them around just as much as I do, and that is saying a LOT!

You'd think these kids don't have closets full of cute clothes from the pictures, but we couldn't resist getting into the water yesterday and today.  It was the first really warm weekend of the year.
J let C drive him all over the subdivision, Cawley loved it!
The littles wanted to climb on too, don't worry, he didn't drive like this!

Fearless and full of life.  And love.  And our hearts.

Mini Mimi!

I can't get over how much H looks like Gigi in this one!
The only one I could snap on my phone yesterday before it got too hot for long sleeves.
