A boy, a book and a brain.

My baby brother turns 28 today.  Twenty EIGHT!  If you are wondering how he can be 28 when I am clearly only 25, you are not the only one.

In honor of B, I thought I'd explain one of my absolute most favorite things of all time.  The beautiful Bible Uncle Scott gave Hardin for Christmas last year.  B wrote a note on the inside that said "God gave you a book and a brain, use them both."

I don't need to elaborate on why I love it so much.  My brother may be a man of few sentimental words, but he sure uses those words well.

Yesterday I made a pathetic attempt at making a sign and taking a picture to send B to wish him a happy birthday.  The sign was reasonably cute.  The baby was very cute.  But they were not cooperating to be cute together.  Honestly I don't know what I was thinking putting something so shinny and tear-able in front of that boy.  It was all I could do to get Jason to play Patty Cake behind me long enough to to distract him for a quick shot before the sign was destroyed!

I was also excited I was able to snap him in his little patirotic outfit one last time for Labor Day.  We enjoyed the day at home with a baked ham, mac-n-cheese and green beans.  Hardin loved it!

  1. Oh my goodness! That close up of Hardin's face is beautiful! Frame it, please! Or just send me one.. It would kick the front of my fridge up a few notches!

  2. It is one of my greatest prayers that my children will love each other as much as you and B when they get older. Such a huge blessing. Every bit as much of a blessing as that precious H. OH MY GOSH, I could just eat him up with a spoon.

  3. Man, I'm feeling O-L-D. It seems like Scott was a lot younger than us when we were younger.

It may have taken some effort, but the b-day picture you got is pretty darn cute.
