20 Months!

It just hit me that this big guy is twenty months today! No more teens for a good long while.

Cousins, Cousins Everywhere!

Saturday we went to my cousin Katie's wedding in Locust Grove.  We went straight from there to spend the night with Justin and Cat.  We had a ball with all of our cousins and family!
My mom has busted her tail and lost over 40 pounds and looks GREAT!

Yes... that's my tiny flower girl on the right.  Crazy!
Uncle Gage-son.  Hardin LOVES him.
And of course Aunt Yaya.  He's no good at the L's and we like it.
PASSED OUT at 11:30 after running wild at the Grant Park Farmer's Market.

Behind

My blog's primary purpose has morphed into a happy place for me to have open all day long at work, so that I always have fresh new pictures to look at.  Because of that, I smile often throughout the day when I get to the main page and see Hardin's little tush.  I thought I better document the story behind the behind.

Hardin is extraordinarily cautious when climbing down anything.  It's so refreshing because most of the time he throws caution to the wind.  But with this one thing, he's particularly careful.

At the top of ungated stairs, he turns around before the top step, sits down, turns around, and "backs out" so to speak.  He slowly scoots his precious little body until he finds the drop, and then moves down.

Until recently, he even used this method with the 3 inch drop from the garage to the drive way, and from the driveway to the road.  It totally cracked us up.  Now he just holds his little hand up and says "hand?"  And waits for assistance.  Let's pray this sweet little habit sticks (yea right, I know).

Splish Splash

Bath time is so fun... especially when mommy lets me take a swim in the big tub!

Fathers Day

This weekend we celebrated Hardin's awesome daddy.  Mostly that involved the US Open on TV without complaint, and me attempting to grill only to be saved by the dinner guest of honor.

Hardin is a very lucky fella to have Jason as his dad.  He's as patient and loving as he is funny and entertaining.  They are quite the little duo, and I feel incredibly blessed to have them both.
His new fake cry face.  Not even close to the real deal!

We have NO chickens, we have NO chickens, we have NO chickens.

This is what I have been repeating to myself for the past 12+ hours.  It has been a whirlwind day.  Craziest ever, and quite possibly one of the best for our futures if it all works out.  I'm exhausted, and I'm trying not to count our chickens before they hatch.  No chickens.

At 2:22pm yesterday we learned of a house that went on the market that day.  Long story short, we are under contract on THE house.  Then I had to do 12 closings today day and couldn't even process it.

But no chickens yet.  This is a short sale, and since I can navigate pubic records with great ease, we were quickly aware of some major hurdles that have to be cleared before we call this place home.  So now we pray.  And wait.  And pray.  And work.  And pray some more.  What's meant to be will be.

But I sure hope it's in this house...

With this light kitchen (my only requirement...  luckily it meets Jason's as well).
Vague, yes.  Many more details to come if things work out.  But for now, NO chickens.  Just a prayer.

Missed Bedtime :(

Tonight I missed bedtime for the first time in a good while.  It was to attend a party honoring two of my dear friends and mentors being named partner at my firm, but it still makes my heart ache to know I spent less than 2 hours with my boy today.

So... I snuck in his room and watched him sleep for a while.  I love the little noises he makes, although they sound more like a kid than a baby these days.  As you see, we still have Doug, DJ, Bunny and now two blankets.  I have no idea if that's healthy or not, but the boy loves him so it is what it is.

Go. See. Do.

Now that Hardin is getting to the age where he really enjoys little adventures and gets excited about our outings,  it's a whole new world.  All week I look forward to Saturday when me and my boy get to go.  See.  Do.

Today's outing included sitting on the big lawn at church, dancing baby in my lap, listening to live music and sharing a homemade Italian ice.  There was also a pony and bouncy house involved.  We followed that up with the church playground, and then a trip to the pool at the Y with daddy.

It was a fun day all around!

ha ha ha!

I finally snapped a few pictures of Hardin covering his mouth with his hand when he laughs!  I had to get Jason to get him all giggly while I stood to the side.

These seriously make me happy.  The way he grips his little hands and laughs with his entire body, melt my heart.  He's so genuinely happy it amazes me sometimes.  His happiness is contagious too, and that sure is nice.

On another note, I have recently been hit with the baby bug BAD.  It came out of nowhere too.  So far I haven't even seriously entertained the idea of #2, and now I can not get the idea of little "last" out of my head!  You know me (and more so Jason) and our plans though...  so for now, we're waiting until we're settled in a new house and/or January.  Man.  It feels SO STRANGE to be talking about another baby!

I won't forget today.

The weather was absolutely perfect today.  The kind of weather where you feel guilty for going inside for even a minute, so we tried not to.

Justin is in town for the Member/Guest Tournament at our club, so it's just been me and the munchkin.  We headed to Ft. Yargo this afternoon and spent a few magical hours exploring most of what they have to offer.

The paddle boats were our favorite.  Sometimes a moment hits me so hard and I think, man, I'll never ever forget this moment.  I surely felt that way out on the little lake with my boy.  The wind, the lake smell, the water, the laughs coming from the beach area, and the boy.  Especially the boy.  I'll remember it all forever.  A perfect Georgia afternoon.

The wind/sun combo did a number on his little light eyes, he was much happier than he looks!
